FINAL COMMUNITY WORKSHOP – NOV 14. 2017, 9:30am to Noon

Please consider this communication your personal invitation and encouragement to attend this Saturday’s Third Community Workshop for The Set Transformation Plan at the Delray Beach Public Library at 9:30 am in the first floor meeting room. This workshop is being held in conjunction with the Northwest Southwest Neighborhood Alliance’s 4th Quarter Meeting for 2017. We’re excited to share what the community has affirmed through this process of continuing and building upon the vision and recommendations established in the legacy plans that are the Southwest Area Neighborhood Plan, West Atlantic Avenue Plan, Downtown Master Plan and various other reports and studies conducted over the last 20+ years. This is not what we all might recognize as your typical “redevelopment” plan, nor should it be… It is and shall be TRANSFORMATIONAL!

  • It’s about building the capacity, authority and stewardship of the people in our communities that are impacted on a daily basis by the conditions and systems around them.
  • It’s about an investment in the business model that builds upon strategic partnerships that are necessary to support, sustain, and maintain the work that we have done, still need to do, and have yet to identify; and it is continuous.
  • It’s about equitable policies and equitable development that begin to bridge, connect and include access to the opportunities of participating on a level playing field.
  • It’s about the people, not just the infrastructure of the place, but the people that belong to and have pride in this special place. It’s about The Tribe of The Set… Where You Can!

We ask that staff please forward this to your boards and encourage their attendance as well. Please let me know if you have any comments, questions or concerns, especially if you’re unable to attend, otherwise we hope to see you Saturday.
